Governance practices are fundamental to the success and sustainability of any organization. These practices establish the frameworks that guide decision-making, ensure accountability, and promote transparency. Key governance practices include board oversight, which involves ensuring a diverse and independent board with clear roles; transparency and disclosure, which ensures accurate and timely reporting; shareholder rights, focusing on the protection and fair treatment of investors; and risk management, which establishes controls to manage organizational risks. Additionally, ethical conduct, sustainability and corporate social responsibility (CSR), and executive compensation are integral to modern governance, linking organizational performance with responsible business practices. To implement these effectively, companies must align governance policies with corporate goals, establish relevant committees, engage stakeholders, and continuously evaluate and improve their governance strategies.
