ESG is a framework that evaluates how a company manages environmental impact, social responsibility, and governance practices to ensure sustainable and ethical long-term performance.

In general we should question our self on how we treat our planet ? How we treat the people ? How we run or manage our company ?

If we treat the planet, people, and our organizations unfairly, it leads to environmental damage, social conflict, legal and reputational risks, financial losses, and ultimately long-term failure; therefore, ESG principles should guide our entire lives, both at the individual and organizational levels.

Love how you've simplified this into three essential questions, really powerful.
Your point about ESG being both a personal and organizational compass resonates. When we live these principles individually, it naturally shapes how we lead.
Thanks for this thoughtful perspective, Chalachew!

Overlooking environmental and social factors doesn’t just create external risks, it can directly affect a company’s long-term performance and reputation.
ESG helps bring that broader perspective into everyday decision-making.

You’ve highlighted some important points, especially around responsible sourcing and aligning with global practices. ESG does help provide a common language for benchmarking and improving how businesses operate. The challenge, as many organisations find, is translating these principles into consistent actions that balance both reputation and performance over time.
Thank you, Elsie.

I agree with this, we cannot treat the planet and people poorly and expect a good impact on the environment.
